It comes weeks after a woman died from stab wounds after an attack in Kirkby in July, and then another person was allegedly stabbed in the torso close-by earlier this month.
Insp Longden said: “All three of these incidents are completely unrelated and domestic in nature, so this is not a series of attacks.
“We’ve not got people wandering around the streets with knife, arrest have been made in each case.

“We are 12 per cent down on violent crimes from last year and it’s unfortunate and sad that we have had these incidents.
“We have stop and search powers but these offences were spontaneous in effect, no preventative measures could have been taken.
“It’s a serious matter to be in possession of an offensive weapon and we take any report seriously.
“The courts also take a very dim view on this.”
