Kim Scholefield was given less than year to live after the tumour was found in May – being told it was inoperable due to its proximity to the brain.
And when Nick Briton and Kelly Turner, directors of vehicle care company YumCars in Millennium Business Park in Mansfield, saw that her husband Robert was trying to sell his Mustang on Facebook group Simply Mustangs UK to fund vital private treatment for his wife’s cancer, they wanted to help out however they could.

"He has sold his car, he has had to re-mortgage his house, and we thought we could try and help, however small that may be.”
Nick Briton dropped the cheque off with the Scholefield’s in Northamptonshire on Saturday, August 1.
Nick said: "He has to raise £150,000 for the Proton Beam therapy for Kim, because it is in Germany.

"Some of the treatment is about £8,000 every time.
“The tumour has only been caught quite late on and it is in a place that is inoperable and that is why this therapy is needed and costs so much.
"I hope he was happy with the donation, but I think he was more shocked than anything.”
YumCars donated 75 per cent of profits from everything from wheel cleaners to interior towels.

"It might not be enough for the full treatment, but we have tried to the best we can.”
Mr Scholefield said: “Five weeks ago we had little hope and no funding sorted, and that has been completely turned around.”
He also took to Facebook to thank Nick, Kelly and everyone from YumCars for the donation.

“For a whole month they have donated the entire profits from their sales towards Kim's on-going treatment costs, which considering how hard it is for small business currently is an utterly mind blowing and incredible gesture.
“It was lovely to catch up with Nick, Kelly, lan and Josh today - when at the end of a road trip to Northampton they presented Kim with a cheque for £3,425!
“Again the love and support shown towards Kim to help her win this fight is amazing.”
