Coronavirus death toll reaches 77 in Nottinghamshire as UK deaths pass 19,000 mark

According to the figures, six patients died at the trust hospitals in the past week, with one death recorded on April 23, three on April 20, one on April 19 and one on April 18.
Nationally, a total of 19,506 people have died in the pandemic, with 143,464 confirmed cases in UK hospitals. The figures do not include deaths and suspected deaths in care homes.

Hide AdThe NHS trust has not yet issued a statement on the most recent deaths, or the specifics of those who have lost their lives.
The Department for Health said delays in the length of time to confirm publicly a death of somebody testing positive for Covid-19 can occur for reasons such as an individual being tested post-mortem or difficulties in tracing and informing family members.
All figures provided are given for at least one day previous.
Speaking previously, trust chief executive Richard Mitchell said: “Our thoughts and condolences remain with the patient’s family and loved ones at this difficult time."

Hide AdThe news comes after the government announced that all key workers will be offered testing if they are showing symptoms, along with family members who share their household.
The list includes those working in health and social care, education and childcare workers and transport workers.
