A 16-year-old boy was seriously injured after he was hit by a car in Southwell.

The boy is in a stable condition in hospital following a crash last night (Wednesday 3 October).

He was involved in a collision with a car in Nottingham Road at about 9pm. It happened near Nottingham Trent University’s Brackenhurst Campus.

The road was closed and diversions set up while emergency services attended the scene.

The teenager suffered serious injuries and was taken to the Queen’s Medical Centre.

His current condition is stable.

The road reopened at about 3.30am today (Thursday 4 October 2018).

Anyone who witnessed the collision, or has any information, is asked to call Nottinghamshire Police on 101, quoting incident number 921 of 3 October 2018.
